Please note that this position is NOT a National Park position, it is a Professional Staff position with Southern Utah University. Although currently a one-year hire, position has the possibility of continuing past the initial year, as additional committed funding becomes available.

This position is with the Intergovernmental Internship Cooperative at Southern Utah University. It is not a government position.
The Intergovernmental Internship Cooperative (IIC) is an internship cooperative housed in SUU's Outdoor Engagement Center of Southern Utah University. The IIC develops public land leaders of tomorrow by being a centralized resource of committed and engaged partners collaborating to provide relevant and meaningful education experiences and career opportunities to university and other youth in the region and meet partner needs for a diverse workforce. We encourage stewardship of and appreciation for the richness of the region's lands and resources. The IIC currently has 19 agency partners and 8 university school and college partners. In summer 2014 we placed over 200 students and youth in internships and crew opportunities.
The IIC Partnership Director provides overall program coordination for the Intergovernmental Internship Cooperative. She or he will supervise IIC staff and serve as project and budget manager for IIC agreements.

This position is an administrative position based out of the Outdoor Engagement Center at Southern Utah University (HROEC), but will require time in the field during training, intern evaluations, and other IIC field activities including youth development work.
You must be a U.S. Citizen.

Provides overall program coordination for the IIC.
Maintains positive and healthy partnerships on and off campus that help the IIC achieve its' goals and objectives.
Serves as the coordinator and lead staff for the IIC Advisor Board and IIC Steering Committee.
Manages IIC staff and interns.
Manages IIC agreements and budgets including tracking matching and cost share funds and reporting.
Oversees safety program for IIC program.
Administers the IIC program using the following: the IIC charter, mission, goals and objectives, SUU policy, and consensus meeting rules.
Works with the Harry Reed Outdoor Engagement Center (HROEC) director and IIC Steering Committee to develop a prioritized yearly work plan consistent with priorities outlined in the IIC Charter.
Creates comprehensive reports and presentations for partners and outside interests to effectively market and report on the work of the IIC as well as meet agreement requirements.
Refines and administers documents, catalogs, websites and other media which facilitates teamwork and understanding among all IIC partners, interns, and university staff and faculty.
Maintains and refines the agency partner fiscal year funding cycle calendar so timing for internship and student employment, project proposals to, and other opportunities with agency partners is optimal.
Provides coordination, support, and technical assistance for the development of project proposals and delivery of partnerships, grants, and programs.
In cooperation with the Director of the HROEC and university staff, finalizes, administers and refines the MOUs /MOAs between all agency partners and SUU. Documents clearly describe working relationships, how funds are legally obligated among partners, and methods used to facilitate funding, appropriate partner and university program requirements.
Pursues funding opportunities and prepares grant proposals and/or grant applications consistent with IIC MOU goals and work plans.
Understands and, in cooperation with HROEC Director, IIC staff, and SPARC staff, properly manages and administers various CPCESU and other task agreements.
Stays current with and ties the IIC into agency trends, policies, and initiatives (e.g. DHA, routinely attends applicable agency meetings, youth initiatives, and contracting/agreement processes).
Reports to the HROEC Director.
Other duties as assigned to further the IIC's mission and vision within the HROEC's and SUU's missions.
1. Master's degree or Bachelor's plus equivalent experience in a related field such as natural or cultural resources or administration.
and Cooperative Agreements trained.(preferred).
1. Strong interpersonal skills.
2. At least 5 years of public lands experience.
3. Complex project management experience.
4. Previous management and supervisory experience.
5. Excellent written and verbal communications skills (sample proposal in application).
6. Experience with managing risks for a program.
7. Experience working with conservation crews, interns and/or public land corps.
8. Experience working within formal partnerships.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
